Antique French hand-painted majolica oyster plate featuring six oyster wells and a central sauce well. Dating back to the late 1800s. Each oyster well is pink on the top and soft yellow at the tip with a hand-painted 'oyster scar' in the center.In excellent condition for its age, with no chips or cracks, and some minor glazing. As with many early oyster plates, there is no mark on the back.Measures 9-1/2" in diameter. Retail $395.
